DEAPLANETA ENTERTAINMENT APPOINTED AS LICENSING AGENT FOR GLOBAL MERCHANDISING SERVICES' MUSIC ARTISTS IN IBERIA, FRANCE AND CEE

The DeAPlaneta Entertainment portfolio has been bolstered by the addition of Iron Maiden, Evanescence, Motörhead, Ozzy Osbourne and Backstreet Boys. The company has reached an agreement with Global Merchandising Services for the former to act as the licensing agent for the artists in its catalogue in Iberia, France, and CEE. This appointment reaffirms the partnership between the two companies, which began in October 2025 when DeAPlaneta Entertainment became the licensing agent for Skibidi Toilet in various European territories.

The agreement also strengthens DeAPlaneta Entertainment’s position in the pop merchandise sector, enabling the company to develop licensing strategies for some of the most successful music artists on the global stage, such as Iron Maiden and Backstreet Boys. The former, synonymous with heavy metal, have sold over 100 million albums, performed 2,000 concerts worldwide and feature the charismatic figure Eddie, a global icon who appears on the British band’s album covers, T-shirts and a wide range of merchandise. Three decades after their formation, Backstreet Boys still hold the title of the most successful boy band of all time, having sold 130 million albums and amassed over 25 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

DeAPlaneta Entertainment's extensive roster includes metal and hard rock legends such as Motörhead and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as today's leading acts, including Sleep Token and Ghost, who are renowned for their spectacular and theatrical performances. The roster also features contemporary and groundbreaking artists such as Wet Leg and revelations such as Zayn. Other artists include pop and electronic music legends such as Brian Wilson, The Jam and The Chemical Brothers.

“With this agreement, we’ve literally turned up the volume on our catalogue”, laughs Antonella Ceraso, International Consumer Products Director at DeAPlaneta Kids & Family. “It is also an important step for the company, offering us the opportunity to work with licenses from artists and bands that have become icons for a very diverse audience—one that wants to connect with their idols through music, but also through products that give a tangible dimension to their passion.”

Sara Redolfi, Head of Licensing Agents at DeAPlaneta Entertainment, adds: “We’re excited to continue building on our partnership with Global Merchandising Service, whose catalogue of bands shares a quality we particularly identify with: the value and significance of its artists across different generations. This is an asset that we leverage across various DeAPlaneta Entertainment brands, enabling us to establish common ground with different audiences and develop a wide variety of product lines.”

José Santiago, International Licensing Manager at Global Merchandising Services, commented: “We are excited to welcome DeAPlaneta Entertainment as our licensing agent in Iberia, France and CEE. Their proven expertise and deep understanding of their markets make them the ideal partner to expand the presence of our iconic brands, bands and artists across a wide range of categories. We are pleased to work with DeAPlaneta Entertainment and we look forward to a successful collaboration.”

Throughout September, the DeAPlaneta Entertainment team will be attending the Milano Licensing Day and Brand Licensing Europe trade shows to present the latest developments regarding this agreement and its upcoming releases.
